When and Where is The Soul Sail?

We operate in the British Virgin Islands and Thailand. We depart and return to Soper's Hole on Tortola Island in the British Virgin Islands, and Phuket in Thailand. Events will always run Saturday to the following Saturday.

Are there other weeks and other locations?

All in good time. For now we are running a January 14-21st week in and a February 11-18th week in the BVIs in 2017. We will announce additional trips as they are added.

I've never sailed before. Can I still come on The Soul Sail?

Absolutely! Many of our guests are beginners. The Soul Sail’s Skippers are some of the best in the business. While they’re totally capable of handling the yachts by themselves, they’re more than willing to take on a few first mates. Ask em’ any questions you want - just not while they’re parking.

Do I have to share a room?

It's totally possible for you to book a cabin to yourself, but there is no discount for single occupancy. If most of your friends are booked up until cuffing season, just grab your favorite and book a cabin on one of our Cabin Booking Boats.

Are the rooms private?

Yes, the rooms are private. Most cabins come with a Queen or King size bed, and a personal bathroom.

How many bathrooms are there?

Most cabins come with a personal bathroom, including toilet and shower - make sure you check your boat’s floor plan before you book it. There are at least two bathrooms per boat.  You will also have access to public bathrooms when we are ashore.

What's the weather like? What should I pack?

Weather is generally in the low 80s during peak season, and high 80s in off peak. Yeah, it doesn't change much down here in paradise! Our trips run during peak season (duh) so pack light - bathing suits, summer wear, and your favorite workout clothes. You may want to bring a light sweater for night time star-gazing, and don’t forget your white outfit for Diner en Blanc. Bedding, pillows, and towels will be provided on the boat.

Do I need a passport?

Yep. Make sure your passport is valid for 6 months after you plan to return from your travels.

How long is The Soul Sail?

The Soul Sail runs seven days, Saturday afternoon to the following Saturday morning. If you would like to attend a weekend, contact us and we'll let you know how.

Do I have to do every planned activity?

Nope, absolutely not. The world is your oyster. We want to give you every opportunity to get out there and have the time of your life, but how you spend your time is entirely up to you. The Soul Sail is your trip and we want to make sure you enjoy it to its fullest potential.

What is included?

The per person cost includes your yacht, skipper extraordinaire and wrist band for the events, but incidentals are extra.

Can I attend the events and activities if I am on a private charter?

Yes. Please contact us and we will let you know how.

I can’t fill a boat, can I still come?

Yes! If you are unable to fill an entire boat, you can do a cabin booking. Just grab a friend you can spoon with, drop us a line and we’ll hook you up with a space on one of our Cabin booking boats.

Do I have to pay for the entire boat upfront?

No, because we don’t hold the keys to Fort Knox, and we don’t expect you to either. Payments can be split into ten recurring payments. We can only process the payment on one credit card, so one person will make the large transactions to The Soul Sail and have his or her friends reimburse them for their due shares. Unfortunately, we cannot split the payments between all the individual crew members. But hey, someone is going to get a LOT of air miles on their credit card.

How do I get there?

We depart from JY Harbourview Marina on Tortola Island in the British Virgin Islands. We suggest flying into St Thomas (STT) and taking the short, scenic and cost-effective ferry ride from Charlotte Amalie to West End Tortola. Alternatively, you can book your flights to the BVIs by flying into Beef Island Tortola (EIS); we recommend flying on a major carrier to San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) and taking Seabourne air or a smaller carrier to EIS.

We depart from the Yacht Heaven Marina in Phuket in Thailand. We suggest flying into Phuket International Airport (HKT) and grabbing a 20 minute taxi ride to the base in the Thalang district. Currency in Thailand is the Baht, which is easily convertible from USD and Euro.
